Middletown held its ground in the fourth quarter and overcame a 29-point night by Ciara Collins to defeat Bristol Eastern 62-52 Monday in a CCC girls basketball game in Bristol.

Middletown (14-2) won its seventh straight on the first of four consecutive nights of games. The Blue Dragons play their next three at home, including a Tuesday matchup with Sheehan (11-7) of the SCC and a showdown Thursday versus CCC South rival Maloney (12-2).

Tyah Pettaway led the Blue Dragons with 21 points and Jada Bryant, with 15 points, had one of her best games of the season as Middletown (14-2) won its seventh straight game.

Shadae Bushay added 12 points for Middletown and Alex DeSena finished with 9.

Janessa Gonzalez chipped in with 12 points for Eastern.
