Sophomore Callie Holzer drained six 3-pointers as part of her 30-point performance Monday and North Branford dealt Valley Regional its first loss of the girls basketball season, 67-56.
The Warriors lost for the first time following an 11-0 start.
The host Thunderbirds, who improved to 11-5 with four regular-season games to go, used a 15-5 run in the second quarter to take a 10-point lead into halftime. They kept the lead at double digits entering the fourth.
Senior Braeden LeBeau finished with 21 points and Keana Crisculo chipped in with 12 as North Branford returned the favor of a 38-point loss to Valley in December.
Lily Grow, back at full strength after missing the last two weeks with a knee injury, scored 22 points for Valley, as did Abby Bradbury, the team’s leading scorer.
