Fittingly, Dario Rigano was the star on Senior Night at Rosek-Skubel Stadium.
The Middletown boys soccer team’s top scorer was at it again Monday, tallying a hat trick to lead the Blue Dragons to a 4-1 victory over Rocky Hill.
Rigano leads the Blue Dragons with 20 goals and eight assists.
“As he demonstrated on senior night, he can consistently beat opponents one on one and can score goals,” said Emanuele.
Freshman Andrew Lazich also scored for CCC South champion Middletown and senior Seshank Sekar had 2 assists as the Dragons improved to 10-1-3 with their five straight victory. Juniors Marshall Butler and Kris Bocchio had an assist each.
Freshman keeper Tyler Hahn had four saves as Middletown extended its unbeaten streak to six matches with two to go. The Blue Dragons, who are assured of a top 10 seed in the CIAC Class L tournament, finish the regular season with road games against Hartford Public on Thursday and Lewis Mills next Tuesday.
Massimo Cianci scored for Rocky Hill (7-3-2) and keeper Shah Jaimin finished with 13 saves.
