Haddam-Killingworth’s girls soccer season continues to move in a positive direction, the latest sign a 1-1 tie against Shoreline Conference leader Morgan on Monday in Higganum.

Hadley Commerford’s goal with 15:32 gone in the second half was the Cougars’ equalizer. Commerford was assisted by Leah Chester.

“The girls on this year’s team have finally created an identity for themselves,” said coach Mike Shea, whose squad is 6-4-3 and the defending Shoreline champion. “They are starting to feel more and more confident in themselves, too. It’s nice to see this developing now.”

Morgan (9-0-5) had taken the lead just 8:15 into the match on an Eve Gardner shot over the head of H-K keeper Brianna Nugent.

Nugent had 7 saves on the day. Morgan keeper Angelina Comiskey stopped 10 shots.
