Megan Gallagher rang up a hat trick, while Kate Donlan and Marie Kane also broke into the scoring column in Mercy’s 5-0 victory Tuesday over Lauralton Hall.

The win at Xavier’s Larry McHugh Field was the Tigers’ sixth in nine matches this season (6-2-1).

Gallagher and Donlan (assist from Jules Yuris) scored within four minutes of each other early in the first half to give Mercy a comfortable lead.

Gallagher added goals in the second half around Kane’s score in the 50th minute. Donlan and Megan Menard assisted Gallagher in the 42nd minute. Kane assisted on Gallagher in the 58th minute.

Melina Ford had 7 saves in net for Mercy. Alexandra Vincent had 7 saves for Lauralton Hall (2-6-1).

Mercy is back at it Thursday with an away match at Amity Regional. The Spartans beat the Tigers 2-1 in their first meeting on Sept. 14.

Highlights: Hadley Commerford, Tu-Lanh Criscuolo, Sierra Hajek, Brianna Nugent and Yumi Imai scored for the Cougars in their out-of-conference home win. Leah Chester, Emmy Kehlenbach and Amanda Cassidy had an assist each, and keeper Rhianna Phipps had 4 saves. Brianna Almezy had 10 saves for Platt Tech (2-5).

Boys Soccer

Morgan 7, North Branford 0

Highlights: Ethan Madura scored 2 goals and Joe Morse and Alex Gallardo had 2 assists each as the Huskies improved to 8-1-1 overall with the Shoreline win. Tyler Mucha, Jake Bardinelli, Matt Lopez, Nick Boudreau and Oscar Serrano also scored for Morgan. Lopez and Branden Daly had an assist each. Morgan outshot North Branford 29-2. T-Birds keeper Michael Virginelli had 19 saves, while Morgan’s Bailey Goss had 2.

Valley Regional 4, Coginchaug 0

Highlights: Valley scored 3 times in the final 10 minutes to turn a tightly contested Shoreline match into its fifth win of the season. Jake McKenna had a hat trick for the Warriors and Jake Burdick also scored, with keeper Kenny Batt pulled in 7 saves. Logan Bender had a great game in net for the Blue Devils with 13 saves.

Next Match: Coginchaug (1-7-1) hosts Morgan, Thursday, 6; Valley (5-3-1) hosts Cromwell, Saturday, 6:30.

Volleyball

Mercy 3, Lauralton Hall 0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-21)

Highlights: For the Tigers, Jasmine Mendez had 9 digs, Catherine Fay had 2 aces and 8 kills, and Winnie Ciccarello contributed 3 aces and 7 kills.
