Alex Gallardo’s goal in the 35th minute equalized the match and held up as Morgan and Old Saybrook played to a 1-1 draw Thursday in Old Saybrook.

Morgan keeper Bailey Goss stopped a penalty shot and finished with 12 saves. The Huskies are 6-1-1 and halted Old Saybrook’s winning streak to start the season at five.

Kevin Decaupa gave the Rams the lead in the 23rd minute with an unassisted goal.

Old Saybrook goalie Ryan Slisz had 6 saves. Old Saybrook outshot Morgan 14-12.

The teams meet again Oct. 21 at Indian River Complex in Clinton.

Both teams go outside the Shoreline Conference for their next matches. Old Saybrook visits Canton on Saturday and Morgan travels to Waterford on Monday.

In other boys soccer matches Thursday, East Hampton defeated Haddam-Killingworth 2-1; Hale-Ray beat Coginchaug 2-1; and the Old Lyme at Cromwell game was postponed to late October.

Highlights: Mitch Myjak and Luke Karpiej scored for the Noises in their Shoreline victory over the Blue Devils. Ryan Newberry scored for Coginchaug and keeper Logan Bender had 11 saves. Loudon Chupas had 7 saves for Hale-Ray.

Next Match: Coginchaug (1-5-1) at Hamden, Saturday; Hale-Ray (3-3-0) hosts Cromwell, Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Middletown 5, Bloomfield 0

Highlights: Mariah Spada had 2 goals for the Blue Dragons and Abby Johnson, Natalie Brennan and Jahne Carrenard also scored. Middletown improved to 3-3-1.

Next Match: Middletown at Hartford Public, Oct. 8.

Cromwell 0, Old Lyme 0

Highlights: Lily Kenney had 7 saves for the Panthers and Olivia Kelly had 7 saves for the Wildcats. Cromwell outshot Old Lyme 13-7. Both teams are 3-0-4.

Next Match: Old Lyme at East Hampton, Monday, 3:45; Cromwell hosts Hale-Ray, Monday, 3:45.

Highlights: For undefeated H-K (8-0), Audra Yazmer had 14 service points and 3 kills, Reese Timothy had 1 assist and 3 kills, and Payton Yazmer had 4 kills and an ace. For Old Lyme, Melanie Warren had 10 digs and 3 aces, Maddie Thompson had 10 digs and Abby Speckhals piled up 14 assists.
