Lindsey Onofrio knocked in the winning run in the 10th inning Tuesday to lift host North Branford to a 10-9 Shoreline Conference softball victory over Cromwell, ending the Panthers’ streak of consecutive wins at 11.

Onofrio’s single gave freshman pitcher Kiley Mullins her first career varsity win.

Jada Miconi led the Thunderbirds with three hits and three RBIs. North Branford (8-1) overcame an a 5-1 deficit in the fourth inning and chipped away at Cromwell and starting pitcher Lily Kenney.

The Thunderbirds scored three times in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. After Cromwell scored in the top of the 10th, the T-Birds answered with two to win it.

Malena Signorello led the Panthers (11-2) with 3 hits, while Jamie Anderson and Grace McFarlin contributed 2 hits apiece.

North Branford played a second game at home Tuesday and defeated Old Saybrook 7-1, raising its record to 9-1.

Bella Hills pitched a complete game, allowing an unearned run with two walks and seven strikeouts. Lauren Ackerman had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored, Mullins drove in two runs and Onofrio struck again with two hits and two runs scored.

Christina Lombardi and Cassie Johnson had Old Saybrook’s only hits.
