Posted by

Morgan trailed Cromwell after each of the first three quarters, but the Huskies held the Panthers to six fourth-quarter points and rallied for a 49-45 Shoreline Conference win Thursday night.

Catie Donadio brought her “A” game to Jake Salafia Gymnasium as she finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Leah McComiskey added 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Huskies, who have three in a row and seven of eight.

Morgan outscored Cromwell 33-21 in the second half.

“My kids played hard and did the right things in the second half,” Morgan coach Caitlin Woods said. “Leah McComiskey led the charge with her solid play and drive to win. The kids really came together and did exactly what they needed to do to come out on top. Every contribution was critical.

“I just kept telling them that they couldn’t back off and they didn’t. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Vanessa Stolstajner led Cromwell with 16 points and Sadie Budzik scored 11. The Panthers lost to a Shoreline foe for the second time in a week after having won 52 straight regular-season games against conference teams.

Caeley Ayer chipped in 6 points and 10 rebounds for Morgan.
