Field, Mercaldi, Barrientos Power Unbeaten Bellringers

HIGGANUM – East Hampton had three scorers in double figures and the Bellringers’ defense held Haddam-Killingworth to six points in the first half in a 52-18 Shoreline Conference win Saturday.

Mya Field led all scorers with 15 points, Angela Mercaldi scored 13 points and Hannah Barrientos chipped in with 12 as East Hampton raised its record to 5-0.

Anna Biondi led H-K (2-3) with 5 points.

CANTON – Cromwell fell behind by 12 after one quarter and couldn’t come all the way back in its out-of-conference loss to Canton.

Vanessa Stolstajner led the Panthers with 18 points. Sophomore forward Khaya Skene had 9 points and 12 rebounds and freshman Nevaek Clark finished with 8 points and 9 boards.

Allison Celmer had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Canton and Abby Charron contributed 12 points and 9 assists.
